Just curious if anybody had thought about doing a "what-if" (as in "what-if" the road runner had come out 1yr earlier) road runner clone out of a 67 satellite or belvedere?
seems like everybody and their brother does GTX clones outta 67's (nothing wrong with it just overdone IMO), the movie Joe Dirt was on tv the other night (hadn't watched that movie in years lol) and there was a 67 b-body in it with RR stripes, it looked pretty good IMO and it got me to thinking....

My '67 Satellite was done with with '69 RR stuff by the PO. Didnt like it, so i took it all off. However i did have people tell me they "had a Roadrunner just like that" when they were younger. If you did it, in my opinion, you should use the '68 black and white birds. And the hood treatment would look nice.

Tell me about it, I have guys saying my 69 coronet is a charger! Lol what? Charger?

What do you mean black and white birds?
The decals?

it looks like that 67 has the non functional RR hood vents, I wonder how that was done?
cut it out of a donor RR hood and welded into a 67 flat hood?

It's your car, do it how you want.

If you want to see it without spending big bucks, lay it out in the blue or green painter's tape...it comes off easily. If you want to see it in a specific color, once laid out, pull the tape and paint it black (white, silver, etc.) then lay it back down on the car. Take some photos to study over a couple days. If you like it, you have something (photos) to show a painter. If you don't like it you are out the coast of tape and a rattle can.

I agree I think the 68 RR parts would be the way to go, IF I go thru with it...

excellent tip on painters tape and rattle can paint!
