I have a 68 coronet. I want to use a 69 ramcharger hood. Would anyone know which year hood latch safety catch hook & steel loop i would use for this setup to work ?

I would think the standard hood stuff would work. Here is a picture I found on the web of the hood catch and latch.

Yes, i'm sure it would. But for which year ? It looks as if the hook for 68 is shorter than 69. And the loop for 68 is longer than for 69. I was hoping someone who has this set up could tell me.

the 69 hood just has a filler piece on the bottom of the front edge that fastens to the hood.
The filler piece makes the 69 hood dip down at the top of the grill.
There are bracing differences on the underside of the ram charger hood, but I don’t think the latching mechanism is any different between the two.

If that is true, why do the ads list 68 hooks & 68 loops as being different parts than 69 ? From the pics i've seen 68 hooks are shorter. And 68 loops are longer. I've even read threads about people using long bolts with spacers, to make the shorter loop work.

You may be right.
I own a 68.
I’m sure someone with more experience with 68/69 bees will enlighten us.

Is there no one here with this set up ? Or know for sure which would work ?

Call a mopar specific reproduction parts supply house and ask them.

Dante
Mancini
Mega parts
Etc.....

FWIW on my 68 R/R with a 69 hood the hook bolted to the hood is different, the Fang is the same as the latch. On repop hoods who knows?

All I can tell you is, Plymouth B body- early 68 hood latch and loop is located a little different than late 68-and 69. Try going to AMD sheet metal website , and they will tell you if there is a difference.......................MO

Thanks. They may be able to answer my, Dodge, question .

here's a pic of one on a 1968 at mopar nationals a few years ago, I have not found one that didn't have a ridiculous price tag on it yet, you can do some comparison of the metal on the hood to get a close idea

that is a charger latch just noticed you have a coronet

These pieces were in my cars trunk when i bought it. I assume they're for 68. But have no clue if i can use them with the hook & loop that i know i need.

Can’t help Aaron, never have changed my hardware (except when I had a 6-pak hood on). Original latch stayed on as it wasn’t in the way of the glass hood.
