Hey guys, so ive been working on my 68 Bee and a previous owner who was i believe the second owner told me the car came with bucket seats. It has a bench now that doesn't match. The fender tag was removed by this guys brother years ago also and its long gone. My question is when i pulled the carpet out there are holes in the floor but not brackets. Were the brackets welded in or "putty'd" in? I Can't find any sign if they were. The paint doesn't show any sign of anything being there before. Any suggestions or other signs i could be looking for? Thanks,Wesley:confused2:

Bucket Brackets

Brackets for buckets, were always welded in, on top of the floor, close to the hump. Without those brackets ,the floor pans would crack, from the constant slight flexing, while being driven .

If you don't see any evidence of brackets i doubt it came with buckets are there holes holes for bucket seats ,

Yeah there are holes but im thinking someone put them in as there is no sign of grinding or anything and the factory paint is till there in good shape.

Someone will correct me if i am wrong but i thought 68 Super bees came only with a bench seat!

Buckets or Not

Here`s one all original that`s had a rough, ROUGH life & it`s still sits like this today! The owner wants to "Fix it up some day". Post car, bucket seats, 383 4 speed. Probably could have ordered them, back then , any way one wanted to ?

I never stop learning, Who says " Yeh can`t teach this old dog, new tricks!" Thanks "monaco66coupe"

The GTX model was an upscale model, as was the charger R/T and coronet. The Superbee and Roadrunner in1968 was a base car with few options available.

OK thanks guys, I always enjoy learning about these things. Now i have to find the right bench im not sure what the one thats in it came out of.
