68 carb numbers advise?

anyone here know what my 68 gtx should have come with for a carb? anyone have a number that i should look for? i know a guy who has a buss full of carbs , gonna go visit him tomorow , need to know what to look for.

My point was to make the OP aware that he needs to list more info about his car to get accurate answers.

Ya, I can understand your point, but my point is when there's only a couple options why not just list the options? If there were a bunch of #'s or info that was needed to make any call at all I could understand not listing all options. The first response makes it look like either carb # as no info about the two #'s were given. The second response gives trans options, but no carb numbers and still no answer to the OP. Just my :twocents:

Way too much has been made of this posting, and mine in particular. I gave a quick , correct and direct answer. The poster and I have pm'ed and emailed before.
The set up was, I'm going to look at a stash of carbs, what numbers should I look for?
I gave the two key numbers to grab. Does anyone not think that if you found either number you wouldn't take it home?? Even if 'wrong' per his trans, which he didnt state in post.
Did any of this chatter help him or hurt him, discover a deal in a carb?
