68 charger with 440….(former a/c car with 383), currently has a fan clutch setup, no shroud.
Is the fan with clutch correct? Should there be a shroud?

I will say yes to a shroud, 26" or 22" radiator?

From the 68 Service Manual.

I believe all cars had the shroud as well as a safety factor but will let the experts chime in.

My ‘69 GTX left the factory with a 22” radiator, no shroud and a direct drive fan…

An AC car should have a shroud.

Reproduction shrouds are available for 22” and 26” radiators. You will also need the mounting brackets which are specific to the size of your radiator. I’m fairly certain that AC cars used 26” radiators…

I bought a 26" shroud at the local Dodge dealership for my '69 RR . They still make them. Would help if you can get a discount! I was advised by Bob at Glen Ray.

What did they charge you for the shroud?

They are close to $200. or so before the discount I got through a friend's body shop. $120 -140 ? Been almost a year ago. Try and remember to see if the receipt is in the box next time I go out to the shop. Haven't been doing much, torn rotater. Try and get you the part number too.

The ones currently bought today through dealerships are not made with the same quality as originals. They are "Authentic Restoration Parts" but not made by Mopar. They carry the part number but are thinner and tend to get wavy after multiple heat cycles and some have cracked. For a 26 radiator shroud the part number is 2785434 BUT keep in mind that looks similar for a C-body 2785435 which has 6 mounting holes 3 on each side while a B-body one has 2 on the right side and 3 on the left. Just info so you get the right one...

Re-read my post and corrected..

Heavy duty cooling packages came with shrouds in 440’s, I have seen non A/C 22” rads with shrouds also from the factory. Trailer towing package cars also had a shroud I believe.

Thanks for all the info guys!!
