Greetings all - new member & first time poster here.

My 68 Charger R/T has original front disk brakes and rear wheel drums. It's getting to the point that I may have to replace EVERYTHING: Rotors & pads up front, drums/wheel cylinders/shoes on the rear, the master cylinder, & maybe even the booster. I know - I'm screwed, right?

Anybody know where I can get these parts w/o mortgaging the house? Otherwise, I'll just go with an updated conversion kit b/c it's not worth the cost, Plus, the quality of new is better.

Thanks!

Why would you be screwed? I believe most of the parts are available. I know the calipers and master cylinder are available via rockauto and depending on how bad the calipers and wheel cylinders are you may just be able to rebuild them if you want to try to go cheap cheap. Rebuilding isn't that hard of a thing to do unless the bores are horribly pitted. About the only thing I don't see RA as having is your rotors so you may want to see who carries them and how much.

I can buy all of the parts you need at my local NAPA parts store !! So check your local parts store !!!

really? NAPA can get the rotors? Shop around for the calipers as I know a bunch of places rebuild them which may be cheaper to do than to get replacements. The wheel cylinders and the 10" drums are readily available especially through Rock Auto although, with that, I'd still shop around as the shipping if it all comes from one place isnt bad. However, if the parts come from different warehouses, the shipping adds up fast which sometimes makes it cheaper to go to your local auto parts stores.

What you got against Napa ?? I live in a small town and though they might not have what I need in stock they will have it for me first thing in the morning ! So this saves me a drive of at least 25 miles if not more !

Trust me, I have nothing against NAPA. Great place and still upset that the NAPA in my town went out of business. I was just surprised that they could still get the rotors as they seem to be hard to find.

o ok I see my little town has a napa and a car quest so between the 2 I have pretty much no issues getting parts !
