I’ve started putting my new rear valance on my 68 charger and I’m looking for some photo help as to how the bottom of the valance is connected to the cross member. My car was bondo city in this area so I don’t have anything to go off of. A couple of shots looking up from under the valance should do the trick if someone can help?

I also don’t know what to do with the tabs on the valance end caps from AMD. Do they get bent over somehow or cut off?

Thanks in advance.

just a guess here but i don't think the valence panel attaches to the crossmember.I think it just bolts w/nuts to the rear quarters and into the bottom of the trunk extension. As far as the tabs go,i think you just bend them up when you bolt it to the quarters.Sorry i don't have pictures but maybe you can check the resto threads for that area.

Nope, it's all welded in 68-70 Charger valance panels are welded to the quarters and into the corners, it's a chinese puzzle.

Thru conversations with the guys at AMD I received the following pics to answer these questions.

Thanks on the corners, was wondering myself. Why do they have to be so pricey though.

Correction. The tabs get bent forward and welded to the quarter panel. I talked to the guy at AMD and he said he the info before was a mistake and it had been a while since they did a charger. He also said originally the rear valance doesn’t get welded to the corner or the cross member at the ends – just floats and fill the joint up with seam seal. AMD admits their rear valance is a flatter arch than the original. I believe I will create a tab to go from the corner to the rear valance at the bottom to hold the rear valance in place
