Did they use both the small and large TRW pumps on the 68 Charger? Looking to buy a seal kit from Napa and it just says it is for a Thompson(TRW). Store guys were no help.

The TRW and Federal pump seem to be the same, with the exception of the back of the reservoir. The difference seems to be the reason for different brackets. I have done both, and think the kits were the same. I am not aware of any large or small TRW/Federal pump kits.

I've seen several references to the small and large TRW pumps. There is apparently three styles of the TRW and the one with the hex shaft like mine is supposed to be the large pump. Maybe they all use the same seal kit though.

Chrysler did not do a good job of separating the differences in the service manual and the parts book for the TRW as to application. There is a Large and small size. The small is called out as the .96 g/m and came onthe B bodies ( 4 5/8 can diameter ), and the large one 1.2 g/m, which has the sissor bracket and came on C bodies, and has a 5 1/8" can. If you have a parts book the shaft seal is in section 19-54-151 plus related orings. Clearly the can o-ring are different.

Thanks chignikred! I bought this pump used and was told it came off of a 68 Charger. The hex shaft is indeed from a 60's C body pump. I just got back from Advance with the seal kit and it fits. Putting it all back together now.
