I am struggling with my car tonight. I have bent the **** out of two lower molding pieces on the windshield and I refuse to go further until I can come up with a solution. The clips on my lower front molding seem way too low and are spent. Is there any way to remove them without the windshield out? If not, anyone ever glue the trim on with any success? I really really don't wanna remove my windshield for these shitty clips. Any ideas are welcome. Also, is there a difference between a Charger trim and the other B bodies from 68? This molding doesn't seem to fit for **** as far as going down into the cowl area at all.....seems way too wide and high like it isn't right.

I’m fairly certain there is zero difference in the trim. The trim between my Road Runner and my Charger were the same. The clips also I’m certain you gotta pull the glass to get to the screws that hold them on. Can’t say I’ve ever glued trim on before but I know the urethane sealers they use for windshields now would do it but that trim and paint would be ruined come time you’d ever have to remove it. Are you sure the trim isn’t pinched too tight where the clips engage into it? Or were the clips recently replaced and installed backwards. I have seen that happen.

The glass and gasket have to be removed to get access to the trim clip screws. It sucks but that is how they are built. The trim is the same for all NON convertible B body cars 1968-1970.

No the clips have been on the car for sometime now and the old trim was glued on using butyl adhesive. The clips are all bent in towards the windshield which means they’re not holding the trim at all. I tried bending them out but they’re just kind of flimsy and worn out like they’ve been used in abused one too many times. I see that Megaparts says that there’s two types of clips used for 68. There’s a shorter clip and a longer clip and all that it says is that some cars use one and some use the other so what’s that all about? Mine seem way too far down in like it wants the longer clips on the bottom.

The general consensus is that the 68 B-Bodies with a build date prior to January 1968 uses the 66-67 B-Body windshield clips. The ten lower clips are roughly twice the length of the 69-70 style lower clips. They are also narrower in width as well.

Could be my problem all together. The trim wants to sink down way past the damn cowl before it even gets close to the clips. It just doesn't seem to wanna fit right that way. Any change in cowl positioning or anything that caused them to need shorter clips after January of '68??

Well windshield is out of the car this morning! Going to call Jaime at megaparts and order a new rubber gasket and the right clips and get this thing back together I suppose. Carlisle is near, no time for this ****! :)

Well windshield is in. With the new gasket I’m surprised how easy it went in. So glad I did it myself and didn't pay someone. Turned out awesome and then with the new stainless trim and new windshield clips everything fits like a glove. Thanks to 69bfan for the parts and help! Awesome guy to deal with!! Here she is all installed and ready for cruise night!

I don't understand, did you install it yourself ?

Sorry man I forgot a "didn't" word in there! Man I was so excited to get this thing out and see how it looked that I didn't type it right. :)
