I figured I'd keep track of the car here. This is my first mopar project. The car is a 1968 roadrunner qq1 4 speed car.

Quarters, trunk pan, extensions and wheelhouses have been ordered.

Overall plan is to have it driving next summer.

Intial plan as long as my pockets can handle it.
440, forged bottom end, super stealth heads, griddles, twin borg Warner s366. Shooting for 9:1 with a max boost of 10psi.
a833 18 spline

suspension? Still researching.

Color? Silver more than likely.

Interior. Keep stock roadrunner except carpet instead of vinyl.

wheels? Undecided.

New sheetmetal is supposed to be in mid October so I'll update soon.

I wont do any mods to car that are not reversible to factory, just a personal preference.

Welcome to the madness of restoring a car! Take LOTS of pictures before and as you disassemble things - you'll thank yourself later!

Best of luck and keep us posted with progress...

X2, what he said.. Nice RR! Doesn't seem to be in too bad of shape.

Thanks guys, not my first resortation, just my first mopar.

Love the new thread. Love RRs as well. Welcome to the site and thx for letting us follow your progress on the restoration.

And it begins. Contemplating mini tubbing to get some decent meats on the back.

It's getting uglier by the day.

The orange car is the look I am going for, just with 315s instead of those huge bolonga skins.

Starting to put back together. Inner rocker was Swiss cheese as well. Looking forward to putting the mock up 440 in place and start plumbing the twins.

I like the protouring/pro street look. The kiwi nailed it with the orange car, it's a beaut.

Nitto 555s or ET streets? Should be able to fit a 315 or maybe larger. Also my ball joints needed an adjustment.

That orange road runner is exactly the look I'm after, with the same 17" fronts and beadlock rears. It looks like you're well on your way!

I'm on board for this one, givin the picture of the direction your headed with it I'm going to like this one! Moving right along already...........

Ya the orange car looks really good. Just need to make my mind up on the engine to keep the ball rolling. Thinking of something along these lines for the wheels.

Not worried about people's opinions much unless they are helpful. What are you driving superfreak? Any spare parts?

Purists should shut their mouths and build their own cars to their satisfaction

Zach, your engine dilemma isn't an easy one. You've got the 440 already so that counts for something.

Your decision on this one has got to come down to value for your $$ . The Gen III hemi when built for it makes for an awesome engine for boost. I think you could build a blowthru TT 440 for substantially less money that would still put down crazy numbers but I think you need to put pen to paper and get a real comparison (average Joe with Procharged world block hemi made 840 rwhp with blowthru at 15 psi)

I've seen plenty of satellites and roadrunners in our area that are restored, never seen one pro toured or even prostreet look. I am going for a combo of the two, nothing wrong with doing something different.

The engine ideas are bouncing around in my head. I put down on paper last night what i figured the costs to build a forged 440, stroked 451 or fuel injected hemi. All the motors more or less require the same treatments however the gen3 came in higher by a fair margin. At this point it's truly a race between the 440 block which I own or a 400 block that can be had for peanuts and possibly handle a few extra psi.
