Glad I joined this site during my 68 RoadRunnerResto.
Here are some pics of progress on a complete #s matching car
I am not attempting a concours restoration but a restoration nevertheless
I have aleady completed motor-added a cam, springs and intake
I know orange is not the correct color either. Will this be a penalty for value?
I also would like to consider painting a color other than original. Will this be a penalty for value?
Everything else will be correct 038.jpg008.jpg007.jpg[

Nice looking project! For a numbers matching car with a high quality resto the paint change may have some minimal impact on value. are you attempting to restore and sell or restore and drive? If it's for you, pick the color you want, quality in the paint job and a good looking color has more of an effect on sale price than originality until you get to the concourse resto world (my opinion, others will chime in I'm sure).

Now if the origional color is a rare/desirable one, it could raise the value to paint it in that color.

same for the engine color... for sale as a true resto..paint original, resto mod..paint what you like.

BTW... You may get more attention in the "Member's Projects" forum.

nice keep us updated on your build thanks for sharing :headbang:

Thanks for the comments guys!
It will be for resale as there are so many different cars I want to do...
The original color is sunfire yellow-not my favorite.
Just finished rebuilding the A-833 4 speed. Really pretty easy gearbox to do.
How do I move this to "members projects" ?

You can send the forum admin a private message and ask him to move it for you.

if I was just going to turn around and sell it, I would build it per fender tag and build sheet. don't be upset if you get upside down in it when it comes time to sell. most people are looking for a correct car that they wont have to take apart and repaint etc etc. I think you will get the most bang for your buck. either way , have fun and enjoy...
