68 speedo gear

i tired lookin at teh speedo gear chart on teh year one website but it doesnt make sense to me, does anyone have an easier chart to use, or know which one my car should have with 323 gears and a 727?

you can try this, I'm having a hard time figuring mine out too...68 Super Bee 4 spd w/ 3.73. I looked on year one but can't understand it either....they don't tell you which years are for which gear...

heres what you need to figure this out,,,,

rear end gear ratio
diameter of tire (rear)

the top numbers are the rear end axle ratio i.e...3.5 = 3:55...3.9=3:91 and so on.....

tire diameter is the tire measurement tread to tread across the center

the numbers in the field of the chart is the number of teeth on the speedo pinion gear....get them on ebay. THEYRE ALL OVER THE PLACE.
1965 and back take a different pinion gear 1966 and up take the long gear...same for 727 or 904

THIS IS NOT ACCURATE...i just went thru this over the past 3 weeks...i had to trial and error mine to get it to jive with my GPS

i have a 3:55 with 27 1/2 rear wheel and the chart called for a 36......it ended up being a 33 to be close and its still not dead on but its close enuff!
