I picked up this A-833 4 speed today, I’m going to do a 4 speed swap on my Bee. It’s out of a 69’ Charger. VIN I believe is XS29G9G201677 Willing to trade for another equal condition 4 speed if you own this Charger. In Reno Nevada.

EDIT: VIN appears to be XS29L9G201677 with an "L", not the "G" as previously stated.

That vin is a 69 RT Charger and should a 440 magnum or Hemi engine. Cant really tell from the pics what the actual engine code is, it should be L for 440 J for Hemi.

I really thought it looked like a “G”. I could be wrong since the stamping is very faint. It is a 23 spline input.

I’ll change the title.

If it is a "23 spline" it is not from a 440 or Hemi.

I have a reference to this VIN being linked to a T5 440 car.

I looked over the VIN again, I think I can make out what would be an "L" for the engine. It is a 23 spline input.

An L in the VIN would be a 440 motor. All 440's came with the 18 spline, at least in 68-70.

You CAN swap the input shafts....but you have to swap pretty much the rest of the guts, too, I believe. I've heard a number of claims that some 440's came with 23 splines originally, but I've never found any document to support that. I see where it initially looks like a "G", but then I can see a couple faint marks the would indicate the expected "L"....stamp-guy that day may have been a bit "chemically enhanced"? LOL:fool:

Holy ****, I do have that one in my database, but only partial information, and no notes as to where I saw it or who owns the car... :-(
