It's side would be best. I told my resto shop going in to not put my hood that way and I still found it so 3 times during visits. Buggers trying to flat spot the end of the ears like my Superbird's hood. Doesn't seem like much until you put the hood in place and the hood curve doesn't blend with the fenders! Good luck with the sale! Heck of a deal..

It’s a 69 hood but will work on a 68.

That's an improvement, but like dadsbee pointed out, it would be better to stand it on one side or the other not the points.

Think of it this way, the total weight of the hood is sitting on how many square inches of surface area? Which has more surface area? The points or side of hood?

Just trying to help you keep a nice hood "nice".
