Hey guys I'm in a complete panic, can someone please post a pic of their original shifter out of a 69 b body console car, mine is hitting my knee in second gear and my mechanic thinks its the wrong shifter, I have compared mine to ones online that claim to be original and it looks the same but i'm not sure, can anyone suggest what might be going on. I'm at my wits end!!

Does this help any?

yes thank you.. I have a 69 superbee 6 pack car, i put a hurst T handle on my shifter and it basically hitting me in the knee when i go into 2nd gear, I thought maybe I had the wrong shifter in there, is there anyway you could take a pic of it in neutral and another in 2nd gear, It would really help figure out whats going on with mine... your also looks like it is quite far to the inside, just like mine.. thanks for your help man, this thing is driving me nuts, great looking roadrunner btw..

I've never paid much attention, but I can see where a T handle would get in the way.Hope this answers your question.

thank you so much man, i see you are local, i owe you an adult beverage at the next car show

If you can drive with the seat back further your legs will be straighter. Some people like to drive closer than others. Drove my nephew's Shevelle my shins almost hit the lower dash. Maybe because of my fat ***, nah.

This is normal. I have my original Hurst T handle turned to compensate. It works good at that angle. Photo in first gear. That's a TKO-5 disguised to look like the original 833 configuration.
