69 Charger black grille spacers - which way do they go?

I didn't take the grille out so I don't know which way these black spacers go on the grille support. The bag they came in has them put together like photo A, but they also work like photo B. Which one is right? Does it matter? I have an opinion but interested in yours. Thanks
