Hi, I recently picked up this 69 Charger in a deal in order to get my hands on a E body challenger I have been wanting. When I got it home, I discovered its not just been tubbed, it actually has a complete square tube chassis underneath the car that is obviously not stock. The body is in great shape, with patch panels already tacked in the rear quarters, and it has full roll cage. My thought is to cut out the front roll cage and pro street the car by dropping a 440 and 727 I have stuck back. Anyone out there ever backed out a dragster and made it streetable?View attachment 172453 20140301_130236_resized.jpg

Fuel cell in the trunk was also an inconvenience, but everything else was good. She handled good, and with all that wheel well, I put 10" rims with a 5.5" offset and some nice fat tires under her. From the side, it looked normal, but a really nice view behind it.

Alot depends on how the rear sub frame is put in. If it depends on the front cage section you may not want to remove it. Alot of time when people do this thay take out or don't tie into the factory suport locations and ust a full cage to take its place.
For me to give you a yes or no answer I wuld need to see the under side and the front at the fire wall to see how it was done.
Look real good Before any cutting !

From just the pic's you posted it looks to be nice work ?

Mopars2fast, the other car I got in the deal was a 72 Challenger rallye. Yours looks awesome. On this charger, the guy did the same thing. Front suspension is stock, and other than weld in tabs for hard motor mount (which I will remove) all the stock parts are still there.

Wedge69, because there is a complete chassis underneath, the roll cage is welded through to it on the front half. My thought was to cut those front post out (they are inside the car and do not go through the firewall) and instead run a forward bar down behind the seat to allow the rear bars to have a front stabilizer. I am going to wait until I can put the car on a lift and examine the chassis before I make any changes. Thanks for your input.
