I have a 1969 Coronet 500 Convertible that has me at a crossroad. It's a 318 2bbl car with power roof, air conditioning, power windows. Its ready for paint but I was going to clone an R/T or should I leave it as a Coronet 500?? I have an Ramcharger hood and air box for it but in my research yesterday I realized only 30 69 Coronet convertibles were built!!! Please post your opinions to help me deside. Thanks, Peter.

Leave it original, their are enough clones out their. It will never be worth true R/T money because it will always be a clone and because of its rarity I would leave it alone if it were mine. If you do clone it to an R/T be sure to keep every part you remove so it can be converted back to original if you ever want to. You can sell the hood to help pay for the paint job.

They only made 30 3 speed manuell but the total US sold is 1717 1969 Coronet 500 convertible.

Good work 68GTX4SPEED! My 2 cents? Keep it original, or as Pettyblue72 put it, don't make any changes that can't be undone.

Its your car , do what you want with it , its rare yes but that doesnt alway mean more valuable . I say clone it the way you want it and enjoy it , just as said dont do anything that cant be undone . Save all the stuff you take off and keep for any future owner what want to turn it back to plain jane . My two cents ........

My satelite is even rarer then your coronet , but I think I can get all my money back and more out of it :)

I had a special edition 69 Cutlass and although I loved the car and restored it back to original, it still lacked some of the features that I wanted. Specialty cars are nice to have but you can't personalize them the way you want.

One side of me says keep it original, but like moparstuart says "it's your car, do what you want".

Something that rare, I say keep it original, then buy another one like it and customize it.

What ever you do, have fun with it.
