69 Road Runner Convertible. The trim is not the original that came with the car and I have found that there appears to be two holes missing to install this pot metal piece on the side of the car. Mine does not appear to have ever had the holes and I have no idea of what type of hardware attaches them. There will also be a gap under them when they are screwed down so maybe something goes between. Anyone have experience working on this area of a convertible?

Honestly, I can't remember if you actually get screws in there or not??? I'm thinking "no". The trim on either side (screw on quarter window trim) and the trim going around the quarter panel (clips & screws) are pretty solid.

That gap you're seeing is correct! That's where the clips for the "parade boot" clip on. :)

So, you are saying the holes are unused?

I thought they were used to hold them little pot metal pieces to the stainless trim, will look at mine tomorrow

Mine didn't have any screws in those holes either. Don't think it is supposed to. And like Purple Beeper said, the gap under the molding is correct

Yep, it sure looks like there "should" be screws in there, but I'm pretty sure my 70 convt. doesn't have any holes in the body for screws there.

On my 70 Satellite convertible the screws are used.

Screws, but no moulding. Interesting! My car also has Belt Moulding, is that an option and not a standard convertible item?
I'm missing the piece under the rear quarter windows. A fellow member has offered me a set that I'm thinking about.

Get the nut clips also, they are rather unique.

Screws attach the stainless trim to the body with clips that act like nuts. These clips slide on after the trim does and then you can install the screws.
