69 Coronet bench seat + Arthritis options??

I have bad arthritis in all my joints driving around town hurts some. But I did a 5 hour round trip last month and I was really hurting especially on my way back home.Between my arthritis and the seat sitting low and 53 year old springs I need other seat options. I was thinking of going to factory buckets or Procar low backs that are very similar to factory 68-69 Buckets.But I don't think that would help. I am thinking I need a seat that supports my hips somewhat. I think a highback bucket seats would look out of place.Althought if a 1970 B Body highback seats would be better for me a guy has to do what he has to do. I just don't want a pair of buckets that look totally out of place. My Coronet has all stock interior as of now. Has anybody else gone through this issue. I can't be the only old guy to deal with this issue.

my wifes sedan had same problem , bought new covers and foam took to my buddy the upholster and he suggested I let him ad to the foam , you sit like in an imperial no sag at all super comfortable on long drive .

Sciatica is the problem I suffer from. This
solution may not help in your situation.
I had my seat upholstered in leather and I
raised it up a couple inches with some
aluminum blocks. The cloth upholstery
restricts the ability to adjust your seating
position. The added height takes pressure
off of your hips. The next time you're out
driving, try sitting on a phone book about
2-3 inches thick, and see if it helps some.

The low back buckets in my 68 charger are terrible in comparison to the factory buckets that were in my 70 fury and the Mirada buckets I put in the fury. My advise is to avoid the oem low backs if trying to increase comfort.
The bench in my 72 is also saggy and terrible like yours. I'm switching to Omni buckets I had redone. They won't look stock but I think ok in that car and they are very comfortable.

I agree with Furious. Find a pair of seats that are comfortable and put em in, be hanged how they look! If you have to , put a sign on the car at shows, saying the seats are medically necessary .

Trust me - you're not.
Most of the Mopars I 've had in my life came originally with bench seats as well, so I know your pain.
I always lusted after the guys with the upscale models that came with buckets (and consoles most of the time)...
Well, now that I have Fred the GTX, glorious factory bucket seats are in him and thank God for that!
They're a lot easier on an old back for sure....BUT....

I wish all to heck now that Ma had made these buckets adjustable, primarily on seat back angle and height!!
Yeah I know, there's all sorts of options out there to modify, replace, whatever to get that feature - but these
buckets are just too dang nice (redone factory upholstery, etc.) to mess with.
It'll do and I recommend the same for you IF you're insistent on sticking with the factory look.

There are things that can be done. My girlfriend uses a memory foam pad on the seat bottom in her Durango, a couple inches thick. Makes a 250 mile drive no problem.
Also, you could adjust the height and seat back angle with spacers under the bench seat mounting. A little more tilt back might help. I used a set of two inch spacers under the bench in my mom's daily driver 63 impala. She had lost about four inches of height to "dowager hump".
