It's hard to watch my kid's Coronet rot in my driveway.
I just started working on it this morning. Just trying to get it to roller status right now.
It was a running and driving car a few years ago. It is a 69 Coronet 440. Stock 318/904 8.25 rear.
We started tearing it apart a few years ago to turn it into a track car. Nothing crazy but wanted to lighten it up, put an 8.75 rear, mini tub, spring relocation and put the 440/727 from my GTX in it.
He had bought an Srt8 challenger a little after we started and it has sat there since.
Hopefully we'll have something together for the end of summer.
Stay tuned for progress.

I went through the exact same thing, bought a 70 coronet 500 383 4speed Dana car for 4500. Tore it apart then bought a charger SRT8 and the coronet sat for a while, sold it a few months later for 5500. Wish I would’ve kept it

Sounds like my neighbor.Bought a Dart race car running mid 13's. Raced the snot out of it but wanted to go faster. Spent a ton on it, 4 engines(most never made it more that 5-6 passes built by a well known builder) Dana 60,race pac,the works. Got fed up and went out and bought a HellCat. First time out won his class. Never looked back with the Dart

That'll never happen for more reasons than I can count.

I have a newer 2012 Challenger R/T for my daily driver, although not as special as a H.C. I could never get rid of my classic muscle for a newer car. Just not the same.

100% agree

sounds like a cool project Bob
should run well with the ol' GTX engine combo

good luck & happy MoParing

I envy you guys that have the spare time to do these projects.

bobtile, I too care not for anything new. Old school all the way. The 69 looks pretty good and not too rusty. Good luck with the project.

Got into the car today. It's really clean!
I'll be posting a lot of original parts in for sale section soon.
