Hi all, here's another one for ya...

Have a look at the attached pic of a 69 Coronet. It has a bit of (stainless?) trim at the base of the rear ('door') panel that, i presume, covers the join between the carpet and the base of that rear panel.

Question is, has anyone seen one of these on an equivalent Plymouth, more specifically a GTX / Sport Satellite? :icon_scratch:

We're just about to fit the carpet & underlay in our Sport Satellite, but we're pretty sure we didnt take anything like this out when we stripped out the interior all those years ago

Are they only Dodge? Should we have had this part in the first place? If so, are they available as repro? Or is it just the bottom of that panel that sits on top of the carpet there?

Thanks :icon_salut:

Carpet Retainers

Hi : If you`re talking about those strips of aluminum, they are carpet retainers & yes your car had them. :hello2: They are fastened down with special screws. One in the rear before the seat goes in & one in the front after the step plate is installed. :headbang: If you need these ,i have a set w/screws ,that i will sell you. Hope this info helped.

Yes. My 68 GTX has them.

Thanks for the replies guys :icon_thumleft:

Since I posted the question, we (bruv & I) also found these parts at Year One, but as you'd expect, theyre a bit more $$ than Mega Parts

Not sure if either do the right screws tho, but do they need special screws?

We've got an interior screw kit we bought a few years ago for our 63, and have most of them left so will see if there's anything suitable amongst them.

We have just a couple other bits to order for the Satellite so we'll most likely get these trim plates from whoever has the lot, even if it costs as few more bucks.

Anyhoo, thanks for the offer 6pktgo, but I think we may as well get new ones if we're ordering other stuff anyway. And thanks for the link Propwash, forgot about Mega Parts :eusa_doh:

X2, my 68 also has them. Didn't have any special screws when I took them out. But the trunk to rear seat panel was a cardboard box.

No sweat UK-Maxie. Glad I could help. As far as the screws I can easily dig some up here at the local Hardware store. May be threaded all the way down, but will still serve the same purpose.
