Down to my last rust repair on my 69 road runner. Lower rear area rust through outer and inner sheet metal. No repair patches available. Some complex curves here especially on the inside. Thought about maybe buying lower door patches for a large two door car to make some patches. Something like a Cadillac two door. Any ideas from someone who dealt with this lately.

Been there done that. Decent trunk lids are like hen's teeth and ridiculous money if you find one. They all rotted in the same place. I found an NOS one last year BUT it looked like it had sat outside for its entire life - was completely pitted inside and out. But its on my car now.

In your case, find a VERY good sheet metal "fabricator" - not a body guy. That lower section can be fabbed.

I still have my original which had similar rot. I had a metal guy do his thing. He cut the back outer shell off to rework and patch. He did a pretty awesome job in all aspects except he didn't quite get the bottom towards the center right and it bows out ever so slightly - you can see it in the 4th photo. Its just sitting in my attic.

I'd probably attack that by making left and right outer pieces and weld them in place with the lid bolted to the car......... and make the inner pieces after the fact.......... but yeah, deck lids are still out there that are in better shape than that

Yes I’m almost more concerned about the inner structure than making the outside. Figured on maybe two pieces meeting in the middle area to get things halfway correct. Then making a sample strip for the inside and taking to my old work place (military aircraft sheet metal shop) and do a left and right section to meet in the middle also. Fab and weld on those outer lower pieces. Sure would think some place could make some half *** repair patches.
