69 Plymouth Road Runner Air Grabber Install

I have a 69 rr that I want to put a air grabber on. My question is will I have room to put the air grabber on if I have a edelbrock manifold on the engine? Or would I have to go back to the stock intake manifold? I am sure someone out there has been there. Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Mike

Depends on what version of Edelbrock manifold you have on there. Also depends on what engine you have. Is it the stock 383 or a 440?

I know for a fact the CH4B(for the 440's) will fit with an airgrabber, but any of the other more modern versions will probably differ in installed height.

Perhaps some of the other members here have input on what other modern versions of the Edelbrocks might or might not work......

Depends on what Edelbrock manifold. The old DP4B no problem. Taller ones will be tight. I ran a torker with an air grabber back in the 80's and it worked but I never had the hood seal in the way. Also if you have a 383 you can run a 440 base (if you can find one) to get some room.

I had the eddy performer on my 440, had to buy a repop base and cut about 1"off the bottom flange and reweld to bring the height down.

I would also think the M1 dual plane would clear as its supposed too be a replacement for the stocker.

440 Air Grabber air cleaner base plates are shorter than the 383 base plates.

Reason the 440 / RB engines are taller than 383 / B engines

I thought the OP was looking too keep/use the Air Grabber set up under the stock RR hood. Yours looks like the underside of a Six Pack hood?

I am, I just always heard that if you wanted the Coyote Duster air cleaner, you needed to swap to the three speed wiper.

If your going too use the whole AG set up with its added ductwork your going too need the 3spd motor. If all you wanted too run was a big 69/70 Coyote Duster Air cleaner you can slide by with a taller intake or add a carb spacer under the carb too gain some clearance so the rear of the air cleaner base gets over the 2spd wiper motor.

I had this issue using the large Coyote Duster in my 69 RR with a 440, I can't see it fitting any better with the 383 low deck.
