Does anybody know if the button on a 69 roadrunner is chrome or black? I heard that the button on plymouths is black? Thanks

I've always thought 68's had black and 69 and later had chrome but my 68 R/T has chrome. IDK if that's because it was a higher trim level, someone swapped them, or they used both in 68 or it depended on where it was made. I've never heard that plymouth had black as opposed to Dodge but maybe there is something to that.

I had a 68 RR with dress up package back in the day and it still had the black buttons. I also had a few 67 and 68 C bodies and they had chrome buttons I'm pretty sure so they existed in 67/8. I like the black ones and if they are correct I'll be putting them on my R/T eventually.

68CoronetRT will definitely know and hopefully will pop in to give the definitive answer.

Depends on the build date of your car. Early built 69's commonly still had the black buttons

My 68 RR has black and if I recall the 69's went to chrome. I don't know for sure but I'll buy the "early 69 black button" story.

I looked at mine yesterday, black on one side and chrome on the other.
Guess I found another item to add to the parts list.

My car was made in Feb 69 and I just replaced the factory handles and they were chrome.
