I'm trying to verify my vinyl top info for my 69RR

3rd line from the bottom is 1W

Is that the code for my vinyl top? White?

Yes it is a White Vinyl roof. Looks like it would be a sharp looking Bird!

Thank you very much.

Is there any way to tell if the fresh air hood would have had the black stripes? (other than getting out the sander)

maybe all fresh air hoods had the black treatment? Which raises another question.... The decode info I find calls N96 "fresh air hood" but so many call it "air grabber hood" but it's really not the air grabber hood right? I guess when I think of an air grabber I think of the pop up scoop type that has the toothy decal & "air grabber" on the sides?

Like my dad's bee had.

V21 is the code for hood stripes
N96 is the code for air grabber

Looks like your car came with the standard Road Runner hood and no stripes.

On lynch road they did not put much info on the tag like St Louis did...BUT I seen your pictures under the acid trip paint job and I am willing to bet by the shape and condition of your car that you are going find a HUGE bonus! Carefully look or better yet unbolt the front seat and look in the springs to see if the built(broadcast sheet) is still there. IF it is you need to pull the springs out carefully(maybe a two man job) AND CAREFULLY slip out the sheet as they are pretty fragile 40 years later! If no sheet there pull both rear seats out and look, you may find as many as 3 (1 in each seat section) and hopefully all belonging to your car! IF you find the B/S for your car it will tell you if it had the stripes on it and they would be code V21. GOOD LUCK!

In regards to your car and the air grabber hood it is correct, the ones your are describing were on 70 & 71 RR's. The v21 stripes and n96 air grabber were seperate options.

Looking at the pictures it also has the optional factory tach. It should have a woodgrain round shifter knob. If you restoring it back to original chrome wheel opening mouldings was NOT an available option to order on 69 RR's. Satellites etc yes, but many put them on over the years. But OVERALL a great solid complete FIND!

That is true Lych Rd did not put alot of info on the tags.If your interior is original good chance you will find a buildsheet.

Hey thanks a bunch! the car has a white ball shift knob in it right now :(

I pulled the back seat last weekend looking for build sheet but didn't find it. I'll check under the front seat this weekend. I'd love to find a build sheet.

Actually the N96 code is on my tag, 3rd row from the bottom on the far right.

probably hard to see in my crappy tag photo.

LOL the white ball is OK its all in what one wants, and yes with a little sanding you will be able to tell if it had the hood painted stripes.
