I have a 1969 Sport Satellite Convertible 383, this car is a basket case but it is restorable. I want to know if anyone can tell me the value of this car and if it is worth restoring. I know that they only built 188 big block Sport Satellite convertibles in 69, 88 4bbl and 100 2bbl. Mine is a 2bbl. Any info would help.

If you had pics and more info on its condition, it might be easier to access it. These #s are going to be way off but I am looking in the '96 version of the Kelley Blue Book's Offical Guide for Early American Cars - 1955-1975 and it says:

Original List: $3449
Poor: $2775
Good: $5550
Excellent: $11000

Again, the #s are off with these prices being 14 years old. It would be nice to see pics of the car and all of its damaged areas but I like to think it would be worth saving (especially if you really like it).

Yup. Under normal circumstances you'd think anyone would pass on a Challenger R/T vert for $2500. But I did once. Was a sublime car too. But it was SO bad

how

bad

wasit?

It was SO bad that the entire A pillars (all the way to the floor pan) was going to need replacing. This would have looked like Donny's GTX

we need more to go on

Me too. Pics and a "take it off your hands" price.

I could use a ragtop project...(I gotta slap myself for saying that)

Randy

I've been slapping myself for years. (HINT: It hasn't helped.)

I will get some pics next time I go out to where I have it stored. Im planning on keeping it so I don't have a price on it, I just can't seem to part with it. I've let go of to many cars in the past that I regret now. Here's some pics of my Dart for now.

Well it's not a HEMI Roadrunner or GTX or a 69.5 6BBL or even a 383 RoadRunner or 440 GTX. But there was a very small number of sport Satellites with the 383 2bbl built, an even smaller number of convertibles. My dad worked at Chrysler, actually he retired in 1998, in there fleet sales division. He has a Sport Satellite convertible that he brought new in 1969, it had the 383 2bbl 727 auto with all the bells, A/C, power everything, Console Sunfire Yellow with a black top and black interior. It was a sharp looking car and was well maintained. I think the 383 made around 290 hp, not sure there. He still has it and still drives it on a regular basics and i think it now has around 87 thousand miles on it. He has turned down 35K for it and told the guy he plans on being buried in it.

The point i want to make is these are rare cars only 188 convertible 383 2 bbls made, far more rare than the convertible roadrunners with 383's. Depending on the shape i wouldnt go for under 7k even if its a rust bucket!

I know that they only built 188 big block Sport Satellite convertibles in 69, 88 4bbl and 100 2bbl.

I'm curious to know where these numbers came from?? Seems I've seen dozens myself, over the years, making me suspicious that many more were made than that.

Looks like from the white books, which shows a TOTAL SS vert production of 918
467 318-2 14 w/3 speed, 453 auto
100 383-2 all autos
85 383-4 44 4 speed, 41 auto

Ok looks like i missed it by three! I said 188 383's built and there was 185! Seems like it's time to email Galen V. Govier and see if he will answer. For me it's out of courisoity cause i know that big block sport satellite convertibles in 68-69 were very rare, with way less numbers than the Roadrunner and GTX Convertibles.

On another note i talked with my dad this weekend and he said a lot of them(Satellites) went to VP's an the like and he said he knows for sure that was because the 68-69 Roadrunner's and GTX's were being sold before they were built and all the higher ups were not going to hinder the sales momentum the Roadrunner was enjoying.

It's 3 cars. Could be one or the other. maybe there's some export or Canadian cars in there somewhere.:edgy: Ultimately I doubt anyone would pass on the car because it was one of 188 instead of 185.

"What?!? You said 185 and it's really 188??!!!!?!?! Not as rare as I thought. I think I'll pass." :rolling::rolling::rolling:

really. can you imagine....
