Hi guys,

So I was looking at the Legendary interior site at vinyl roofs. The only thing they list for white tops is "Pearl White" for '68 and '69 Chargers. I know the white interior in the 68's were called "Pearl White" but almost have a gold tint to the pearl. Not what I am looking for at all.

I guess what I am wanting to know is if the '68 and '69 white vinyl tops are the same color, and if I should be concerned they are calling it "Pearl White". Is it a true white?

My 69 charger is a pearl white vinyl top. The vinyl looks like it is clear coated with pearl. My car is a stripe delete R/T. You will not want to put a bright white stripe on with a pearl white top. I have seen one done with pearl white top and white tail stripe. It did not look good to me.

Hard to tell much of a difference in those webpage images.

So is there anyplace, other than Legendary, that offers a plain white top? I agree,... I do not want to put the pearly white top on it and have it not look right with the white tail stripe.

I do not know who may carry that, good luck...

@69bfan can you weigh in plz?

I only know of one original white vinyl top 69 Charger and it is as I recall a true white color. I know that the 70 white interior pieces had more of an off white tint as I have some NOS material from an original vendor to Chrysler and it was labeled as Antique White.
The only source that I know for actual sewn vinyl tops at this time is Legendary Interiors and Kee Auto Tops out of Charlotte, NC. Through the years, we have sourced material from Acme Auto Interiors, Original Auto Interiors and SMS. Original Auto Interiors is now owned by SMS. Acme has pretty much only head liner material at this time. Kee Auto Tops offers a quality product and most upholstery shops use their convertible tops. They list the Boar grain as a "Off White" for 69.
As a manufacture and a vendor for these various companies, I can only suggest that you reach out to them directly or to the vendor in which you are looking to use. I would ask for a swatch of both the 69 and the 70 white. Everyone has a different perspective on how they see color, so you need to see first hand what will be used. NOS material may be available, but generally runs three to four times the price of the reproduction materials. Unlike some of the different model years, the 68 to 70 B-Bodies stayed the same on seam placement, so the color other than the Gator grain tops for the 70 model is the only real variable.
Hopefully this will help some, if more questions, you can drop me a message.

Thanks! We have the Indy Cylinder Head show and swap coming up here in Indianapolis the first week of March. Legendary usually has a booth there if I remember correctly. I will see if they have a vendor list to confirm. If they are, I will touch base with them there to confirm availability and colors.

Thanks again!

Legendary is listed as attending the Indy show on March 3rd and 4th.
