Hello I have a problem concerning the windshield.
My 69 satellite is fresh painted in F5.
Now I try to reinstall my windshield an the stainless molding on right side won't fit in the groove of the gasket.
Fürst I had a metro gasket. I tried to push it into place with the window already installed till the rubber of the gasket broke. So I ordered a new gasket. This time from precision parts. Different rubber, same problem. Does somebody know of such problems? Is that a common issue?
First picture shows position of the gasket/molding.
In the second Picture you can see the structure sheet from the a-pillar seems to be to far into the window opening. I don't want to cut on my fresh painted car.
Any ideas?

When installing the gasket did you try rubber hammering the gasket in to problem area? Perhaps slightly cutting the gasket flange groove deeper would be a solution. Are you using a lubricant when installing the gasket?

OK, with the first rubber I used a lubricant.
The result was the same. Then I hammered took the rubber broke.
With this new rubber I used a non hardening sealant in the Grove an no lubricant.
I go crazy.

Verify that the top edge gasket is fully seated, I cannot tell from the pics. Then heat (warm up) and stretch the side and corners while tapping in.

I think I read some details on this forum for this issue. Search for windshield install and see what others did.
