I have a 70' black bench in my 69' super bee and I'm in the process of restoring the interior. Can the 70 be converted to a 69' I'm not sure if the 69 headrests will fit and the seat back latches would need to be changed. I would really like to find a 69 bench with headrests and sell the 70 seat.

I have kind of the opposite problem. I have a 69 RR that came with seats that I think were off an A body and the fit was funky, to say the least. Recently bought a 70 seat which fit perfectly. As you say, the only difference between the two is the location of the seat back latches. I've been told that the change is simply the addition of a cable to allow the lever to be higher and on the side of the seat. The headrests I bought from Classic Industries (and seem to be the 70 style) fits both the old and new seats.
