70 gauge bezel

[70RRunner]

My first post guys.I bought a 70 Roadrunner a couple weeks ago,and it needs a dash frame.Saw one on Ebay complete with gauges that were redone,cap etc,but the flasher button is a switch on the bezel beside the brake light.Mine is on the column.Is that a 69 thing?Its advertized as a 70.Ill probebly have a lot of dumb questions.Thanks

No question is a dumb question! Ask away anytime.

I think I saw the cluster you are talking about and it is NOT a 1970... it is from a 69 . All 68 & 69's are on the dash in the lower left quadrant right switch. The gauges will interchange but the plastic trim face is different.

Thanks,thats what i figuered.Also,looks like an a/c dash.After looking closely at the pictures,i noticed a couple holes beside the heat control,and a crack in a trim piece.Says the gauges have been refaced,and i guess those a/c vents come out easily?Worth 1000.00?

1000.00 Depending....I think you can do much better, gauges can be refaced very cheaply by buying the repop decals, while they are very nice they are not 100%(great for a driver) or you can spend mega dollars and have them "restored"(points car) and those I have seen are beautiful.

My best advice is be patient and do your homework and deal with some of the guys on here. If you car is NON A/C there ARE some differences like the trim pads, end lower right and left corners, heater controls, all the metal frames for a 70 Rallye dash set up are the same, it when you begin trimming that they begin to differ. Also a 69 Dash will have the ignition key on the dash rather than the 70's on the column. 4 speeds will also have the small amber reverse lamp on the lower dash..but that can be fitted into an auto dash shell easily, or filled if opposite.

Exactly how much is missing from your RR? Is the metal shell with VIN tag still there? Wiring harness to bulkhead still there?

Did a little searching and there are better deals out there.I was just thinking that if the gauges were properly done it might not be bad.Cost me 750.00 to have the rally dash done on my Cuda.I have the dash and the VIN in the Roadrunner,but the frame is in poor shape.Easier to buy another one than to fix it.Forgot about the ignition thing.Thanks
