'70 Plymouth Rear Suspension Pictures

I'm taking the rear springs out of my '70 Plymouth GTX for re-arching, so I'm going to put it all back together as correctly to original as I can.

Does anyone have any pictures of an original '70 Plymouth rear suspension? What color should the springs, shackles, bolts, etc be? What color should the front mounting bracket be?

If your original pieces have never been touched, they are your best source of information. Check for traces of paint between the leafs of the spring assembly. I am not as knowledgeable of the 70 B-Body as I am for the 68 to 69 B-Body applications. But you will find them in either the heat treated natural finish or a black finish. The front mounting shackle will usually be a natural material with the attaching studs and nuts in a black phosphate finish. The leaf spring plates were natural that were dipped in cosemeline to protect them. The U-Bolts and nuts were a black phosphate finish. Rear shackles were natural finish and the nut was a black phosphate finish. The vacuum plates is a grayish-black phosphate finish with the attaching hardware being a black phosphate. Wheel cylinders were the natural cast iron finish.

Seeing that your rebuilding your originals, there is a kit available now that includes the plastic and zinc interliners, metal and rubber straps, center I-Bolts, U-Bolts and the front and rear shackle bushings to make the job easier if your looking for a correct style hardware kit.

My car was redone back in the 80's and I seem to have a mixture of original and aftermarket parts, I'm having trouble telling which is which; I did some research and I now think I know which is original, now I just need to get original replacements for the non-original stuff.
