what other body-car uses the same high back bucket seat as a 70 roadrunner, i am looking for the bottom part, just wondering what interchanges with this model
I think all the high backs are basically the same. But much like the benches there were minor changes in them, such as the seat back release button, hinge covers, and seat back covers.
Not meaning to hi-jack your thread but I also have some questions about the bucket seats. What about the bolt pattern for the floor.I have seats from a 70 GTX and 72,73 chargers. They all measure the same bolt pattern.Yet I have a 70 sport satellite I am trying to put seats in and no bucket seats seem to fit the floor. The brackets on the seats I have measure 12 inches center to center from front to back and 14 7/8 side to side. The ribs on the floor pan dont match this and the inside bracket is higher than the out side so they sit way low on the outside.Unless I am missing some part I dont see how they could have ever put the buckets in this car.The floor pans should be the same for the GTX and roadrunner and satellite as far as I know.
The pans should be the same. If the Satellite originally had buckets, then it should have the extra plates welded to the floor for the inboard bolts. If not, then it had a bench. Still the pan should be the same. I'd take a close look for damage.......like someone being a bit over zealous with a floor jack
I went and looked at a friends Superbird seat tracks last night on an un-restored Bird. The seats may be the same from car to car year to year all my seats look the same spring and base wise. But there are different seat tracks for different floors. The seat tracks for his bird and roadrunners are taller on the outside track to make them sit level. The ones I have that were said to be 70 GTX as well as the ones for my 72 and 73 chargers are taller on the inside track and sit down about 1 inch on the outside. So my guess is the 70 B bodies were different. At any rate high backs might fit from several different years but the seat tracks have to be from the right model.
I know this thread is a little older, but I have been looking ino swaping out my 70 RR bench for buckets. It seems the tracks are the difference. Here is a good site for clarification. http://www.nicksgarage.com/6way.htm
