70 Roadrunner hood stripe paint

[B[/B] What kind of paint was used for the performance hood stripe on a 70 RR. Is it a flat paint, glossy paint or organosol style?

I thought it was. That's what is on mine. But i've seen repaints with gloss paint.

If you don't use Organisol, I think a satin or flat clear over black looks better than gloss - just my opinion.

It partly depends on where your car was built. The St. Louis plant didn't use organisol after May 1968, using low gloss enamel instead. They looked about the same but I don't know if the enamel had the tiny bit of metallic in it that the original lacquer organisol had.
