Hi all,Just got this 70 RR a few weeks ago.It has a 440 with a edelbrock 2x4 intake with edelbrock carbs.I wold like to put the stock type air grabber air cleaner back on it.My ? is i am looking in the paddock parts catalog at the air cleaner base for a hemi with 2x4s,will this fit on the newer edelbrock intake? Thanks

I think the spacing for the carbs is the same. The question is, is the diameter of the carb tops the same as what was used on the Hemi?

Would you happen to know the size of the the hemi carb tops?I am almost positive the edelbrocks are 5 1/8".

That's the thing. I think they used the smaller carbs (cause there's two of them lol) but I'm not 100% sure

One more ? The hood has the hole for the air grabber scoop but nothing else.Is there a way to tell if it a original or just one with a hole cut in it.I would maybe consider buying the scoop if i know it will fit the opening. If i am reading the fender tag right i think it would have came with just the bulge hood.

I'm pretty sure there is a "step down" all the way around the hole so the "scoop" will sit flush with the rest of the hood when closed. There should also be a series of holes on the bottom of the hood for all the things that make the scoop go up and down

The top of hood pic pretty much answered my ?I have a bulge hood with a hole cut in it.Ok do i leave it and make up a functional grabber type scoop to fit the opening or weld it shut?Or look for another hood?.It had a fabbed type grabber scoop mounted but permanently open.I know i can make something that will look close. What should a guy do?Anybody? And thanks for the pic it was exactly what i was looking for.

Eastwood sells all kinds of bodyworking tools, including flanging tools. IF the hole is just the size of the factory hole, then you might consider flanging the hole so you could use the factory stuff. I'm sure moparstuart would be glad to measure the hole for ya.

they already make a weld in kit preformed for a air grabber opening also . buy that and it makes it easy .

I do not believe the carb spacing is the same. I have seen where a guy used a repo (fiberglass base) and fitted an aftermarket air cleaner base to the center. It worked out fine. Last year there was a guy in Texas producing nice gellcoat air cleaner tops and bottoms for mopars, they were 1st class and came in various configurations. Maybe Runner knows of the person, he listed his stuff on ebay. Good luck, let us know what works out for reference.
