I finally sold my mustang, and am looking to get my first MoPar...that being said, I need to know the overall length(bumper to bumper) of a 71-2 Satellite/RR to make sure it fits in my garage. I have 17 feet.
If anyone can help...It would be much appreciated!!

My garage is 18x20, I have a 73 Satellite and i have a foot and a few inches front and back, and thats with the 20, its 18 wide so i don't think it will work, the 71-72 could be maybe a bit shorter but 17 feet is pushing it i would say. I have plenty of room side to side but when i was working on it i had to pull it up or back to do it, painting it i opened the doors and placed plastic over the doors to have the extra room to spray it. Hope this gives you some idea..

The length, per wikipedia, is 203.2 inches, or 16.933333... feet. You're going to be cutting real tight. I honestly don't know that I would be comfortable pushing that close without some garage door modification if possible. Those doors always seem to have those medal parts that poke in a bit further.

On a side note, I'd like to commend you on getting rid of your Ford and stepping into a MoPar. It's these kind of decisions that just make life better as a whole... hehehe, just kidding. I couldn't resist! Seriously though, good luck on your search. I just found mine not too long ago and it was a difficult search. That, and, winter doesn't seem to be the easiest time. Let us know how it goes!

we got a new garage door this past summer, and it is flush, it is not 17ft max, theres prob 8 inches front and back, i never plan on working on the car in the garage...too tight. And now that it is empty, I am going to bring down whatever I can to the basement and gain some more width...

Ahhhh, nice! Then that'll do ya! I've got just a hair under a foot of play front and back when I park my '72 in the garage. Which is fine for parking, but when I have to work on it, I have to back it up a bit.

Since you're up there in Jersey, there's a couple of MoPar Parts business' down here in Delaware if you ever need them. Tony's Parts and Herb's Parts. I don't gain anything from mentioning either of them, but Herb's has been really great with me on the phone before and Tony's did right by me on the purchase of an engine. Hopefully you'll get yours soon and I'll see it in the spring at some shows!

Yeah..sounds good-if i can get the right price, it needs minor things but looks good from the pics. It's 4 hrs away, so I am trying to get as much photos as I can before taking a 4 hour drive.
BTW great looking Bulldog. I have a 2yr old brindle boxer.

Good luck, I love them 71-72 Satellite RR GTX body styles

Yeah, I know I was having issues finding them for sale inside of any kind of decent driving range. It's defenitely worth it to drive and look though, and if you're having trouble getting what you need, remember there are 3rd party inspection servces available that'll go check it out and do a full inspection with pics for you before you make the trip. There's another member on here kind of in our area clear across PA, drgraver I think, who has a real '72 GTX. Beautiful looking car.
