Located in Port St. Lucie FL. Complete disassembled rear. Housing is sand blasted & painted black. Drum brakes are shot but backing plates and e-brake cables look OK. Axles look good, peg-leg punkin looks ok but I haven't tested it. No shipping, you need to pick it up. $400 OBO.

Hello from Kansas, I'm hoping I can get a little information. Can I get the overall length of the housing from backing plate flange to backing plate flange? I have a few 8-3/4 axles of different lengths and hoping what I have might correctly fit my son-in-laws 72 Satellite without him needing to get it modified. I don't feel the 8-1/4 axles installed were the same overall length as the 8-3/4s for these years, but I've never measured them. Thank you.

It is either a 71-2 or a 73-4. Look at the spring perches. If they have a small locator hole it's 71-2 if it has a large hole it is a 73-4..

Copy that. Looking to install in a 72 so small locator hole, but that's something I can change if needed. Really hoping to verify length. I may have the correct one, I just don't know what they all came out of.

71-72 B-Body is 57-3/4" outside flange to flange.

It's 57.75 (approximately) from housing flange - flange and 44" between spring perch centers. Here's a pic of the spring perch for hole size (I had no idea they were different between years):

If you have someone in FL to ship it for you, You can have the whole shebang for $200. The good 489 case is worth that. If I don't hear anything from the guys here, I'll part it out. I was hoping a member here with a 71-74 B would take it, parts are good and the housing was sandblasted and painted.
