Did a search for this but couldn't find anything: On lots of photos posted here of 71-74 Road Runners/Satellites/GTXs, the hood is popped up half an inch or more at the right rear (driver's side) corner at the windshield. Mine is the same - I have to give it a push down to make it lay flat after I've had the hood opened. Is there a trick to making this pop-up problem go away, other than lowering the spring somehow?

Both of mine are like that on my 73 Charger. An issue with the hinges I would suspect.
I've had many tell me just keep greasing/lubricating them. Not working.
SMS says they are worn and need to be replaced. I would get a couple used ones but if they are in the same condition, why bother.
I have been happy with their door hinge work, I will probably go that route.
Any one else?

Driver's side is "left rear". But yeah I know what you mean. I never had that issue until I screwed around with the passenger side adjustment.!!! I think, it's just one of those things you have to play with.

More common on E body cars.

Not 100% but "sprung" comes to mind.

I always say "driver's side" and "passenger's side".

Removes all confusion regarding left, right and which way you and I might be facing.

Just to be devil's advocate...

It removes all confusion on *THIS* side of the pond LOL

My passenger side was doing that. It took some fidding with the hinge adjustment on the inner fender, but I did eventually find the sweet spot. It's not perfect, but I don't think more than 1% of the people looking at the car would even notice it's off just a little.

A month or two ago (after having removed the hood while refinishing the car with new paint) I was trying to adjust the hood (72 SSP). As already mentioned above, the rear corners were too sitting too high (passenger side was worse than driver's). I tried every trick in the book, but to no avail-little to no improvement for all my efforts. I used motorcycle chain lube at the time on the hinges, but planned on spraying some lithium grease at a later date. This week i opened and closed my hood a few times during routine maintenance, and lo and behold, both hinges have settled almost perfectly into place! It seems the problem with these old hinges may just be that they just become a little too stiff and dry. Anyway, it is a pleasure to find the hood lining itself up without pushing down on the corners.
