Was there ever a rear trunk type spoiler used on 71/72 B body cars , Not the " GO Wing ", but a spoiler ?
If so , could someone post pics ?, or even pics of a 71/72 B body with truck lid type spoiler / even a universal type. Thanks

Yes it was known as the gull wing. I've got one on my 72 charger. My 72 plymouth has the cutouts in the trunk for one. I'll try to get some pics if someone doesn't beat me to it

I never really cared for the Go-wing or Gull wing spoilers either. Looked like an after thought or after market piece that could easily be broken off if you forgot and took the car through the car wash. I don't know what you think about it, but the trunk lid was the same from 71 thru 74. I was and still might install a different setup on mine, not sure yet but check out the picture and let me know what you think. It's a cheap alternative and from another Mopar, so if you are a purist, you might use it. I will let you know if what it's from if you don't recognize it.

now that's what a complete after thought looks like. I hope you come to your senses on that firebird looking grand am spoiler. that looks ghey in my opinion...but you know....

Ahhh, so close but no cigar, however you are in the right ball park!

I will post a rear straight on view, that should help!

Gull wing is still king in my opinion on these mopars if you want a spoiler

off a Plymouth Sundance

(It's off a Dodge Shadow or Duster.) Bingo, you win! Actually the first Plymouth one was the Sundance I think; Duster was a trim package only as they were trying to sell more cars by using names from past successful models!

I scored that spoiler from a bone yard for $25. I actually bought 3 of them at that price and fitted one to the trunk lid on an old Dodge Mirada and every one thought it was factory! There are 6 molded in studs along the back and three more screws for each side. It is heavy and when mounted it would take a tornado to tear it off. I cut the molded studs off one to test fit on the trunk without drilling to see if it would work, so in the pictures above it is just sitting on there but it fits real well. I also thought that the side view (painted white) that it matches the stripe on the roof and hood. What do you think? I have better pictures at home closer up so the openings are more visible! Unfortunately, I'm at work!

My parents had the factory optioned spoiler on their new "71 Road Runner. I never liked the shape of it, looked kind of "weak" if you know what I mean.

How about a Challenger spoiler. Would it fit?

In fact that is my favorite style spoiler, it's referred to as a ducktail spoiler, I think. I went through that same question and had someone measure one from a T/A Challenger and its a couple inches too wide. The newer Challenger is a little narrower but it's curved and won't work either, I tried it! However, there are 2 guys on this site that successfully grafted an aftermarket repop spoiler from a 1969 Camaro. I have something else planned and when I'm done I will post it but for now it's top secret! By the way, from above, they used to make an aftermarket ducktail spoiler for the Plymouth Duster and Dodge Demon but I haven't seen one in years. I would be interested in seeing how that would work. I will attach a photo of one of the most outrageous 73 Road Runners I have ever seen. All custom with a custom made rear spoiler like from an AMX / Javelon!

i thought the circle kit racer had a spoiler that was right on the trunk edge , that was the mid 70's ? this is a petty kit car .

Thank You! That's what I, (we) are looking for. Nothing like it ever made the 71 to 74's that I have ever seen! That might be a great possibility there but probably harder to find than hens teeth!

i'm sure there are some just hanging around some shops and garages . put up a wanted ad , on all of the for a,b,c, bodies only.com forms . see what happens .
