Hello all out there In Mopar land. I am new to this forum and love the information shared here.
I do however have an electrical issue I could use some advise on and here’s the situation:
All original wiring with Rallye dash, when you use the signal to turn right only, the tac pegs itself and the alt gage goes to full charge! Stays at full charge for a second or two after turn signal is released. This does not happen on left blinker. All electrical accessories seem to be working except for the dome light and key in ignition buzzer. Ive had the car for about two years and dome light never worked. Would appreciate any advise.

Thanks

Dome light harness plugs in right around your dimmer switch on the floor. check the connect and terminals. the tac and turn signal might be a ground or short in the light behind the dash. Not sure how savy you are with electrical, but if you have a meter your can check continuity and see if the wires are burnt through or shorting anywhere. Same with the buzzer and dome light.

Thanks Jonny for the reply! I will check the dimmer. I do know high beam & low beam function as they should but the dimmer switch seem to have lost its click sometimes. I’ll replace it anyway.

If the ammeter is going full charge, I would look at the bulkhead connector.

When the ammeter leads get too hot, they melt the plastic connector and short against other wiring.

.....but it's ONLY when ONE direction signal is engaged

Could it be a grounding issue of something in that directional circuit?

Turns out the problem is gone after replacing the voltage regulator and alternator.

Thanks to all who made suggestions.
