I had a question about the rear end

I lost some pics and videos when I was taking apart the rear end.

Does it matter what side the axles are on?

I notice one axle has an adjuster which side would that one go on if it matters?

Also is there a gasket that sits between the break backing plate and the axle? The kit I bought has a foam gasket and a steel gasket

Its hard to tell from the service manual as it doesn't show the backing plate

Thanks

adjuster goes on pass side.

Does one axle still have the left handed studs? If so, it goes on the left side. The axles are both the same length so they don't care what side they are on but like YY1 says, the adjuster goes on the right.

The threads are same on both axles but I'll place it on passenger side Thx

I've seen them with two adjusters one on each side nothing will cause a problem if you already did it but as stated above is the correct way!

what about the brake backing plate is there a gasket between the backing plate and the axle?

Steel gasket between the housing and brake backing plate, foam gasket between backing plate and the axle bearing flange. Also if the stock bearings are being used, make sure to pack them with axle grease. They are not lubricated by the gear oil.

thanks alot. new bearings already packed :)
