71 dodge swinger project

Picked this up in a field a little while back. I'm curious what my best plan of action will be for tuning it up proper. the motor is a 318( I belive it's the high compression model). Someone one previously put a floor shifter, edelbrock intake manifold and carb, headers(all rusted out), and a few other things into it. The local school is taking it in for the body work and paint. So I'm ready to plan for the ponies..
