One of the previous owners I guess decided it would be a great idea to cut out part of the dash frame on the drivers side, next to the steering column. I have no idea what possesses people to do that sort of hack job...but anyways, I picked up a complete dash frame out of a 71 Charger from Desert Valley Auto parts yesterday. Just looking for suggestions on how best to install a patch panel to make this dash frame whole again. Trying not to use pop rivets as it would be hard to cover up without lots of filler. Thinking of trying to make a butt joint and using a piece of metal along the backside to strengthen it and use something like JB Weld to fasten it. There is one spot weld on the steering column collar that I will rivet together, It wont show once I assemble everything and install the cluster. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
