This is the L shaped bracket that the hood release rod goes through, so it doesn't dangle....like mine!

That doesn't look like the bracket on my 71 SSP....

I don't think mine bends that way. Just straight down. Didn't know I was looking for something till I seen Slant 6's add.

Apparently this is a commonly missing or damaged part.

It was the first part to sell from my 71 parts car.

It looks like it could be somewhat easily reproduced from metal the size and shape of a $1 electrical box cover.

I almost placed that sale on hold until I tried it. It was that tempting.

In fact, if you didn't care to not have the factory contours, a slightly modified 4" electrical box cover would do the job.
