My first muscle car was a 71 Charger R/T I bought in 78 when I was 16. It had 54k miles on it and needed spark plug wires, and new dual points. Made those changes and it ran great. 440 4bbl auto SlapStick and unfortunately an open 8 3/4. An open chunk doesn't do a big block justice.

those " gills " really set that car off.

I liked the aerodynamic sweeping appearance from the sides. The power bulge in the hood is nice. Also one of the BEST most effective Fresh Air intakes of the era, and like all vacuum door actuated "Air Grabber or Ramcharger" intakes, they look menacing. The interior was great, and the front grille and headlights on mine (not hidden) reminded me of the 70 Bee. The hidden headlights are even better.
Just like the 71-74 Satellite, a little too "wide in the hips" but the bumper and tail section of the Charger were much nicer looking. Also really fat tires in tubs under the fenderwells took care of bringing scale to the width of the body "back there" and the upswept trunk deck helps too.

The fact it's already there gives it the other xtrea value! I sold a car once to someone there for $15k top dollar here it got there and he listed it for $50 k not doing a thing to it it sold in a week!
