71 Roadrunner back space

can i run a 5" back space rim on a 71 Roadrunner without making any mods to springs ??

I run 4.5” on my 73. Lots of space for the tires. 255 in 8” rim

I'm running 275/60R15 15x8 with 4.5" of backspace on my 73. looks like it lives there but it is a close fit.

The question is too generic, your backspace (will it fit) will depend on the width of the rim - what size are you running 8"? 9" 10" 11"?

The back spacing is fine as long as your running a 7" -9" 10" wheel will start to poke out 7" will be in bound a bit !
