71 rr grill on a 73?

Hey everyone. just picked up my 73 roadrunner. The guy said the grill, benzals, and stuff were in the trunk, which they were, but there pretty beat up. I saw on ad on craigslist for "the front 1 foot" of a 71. Can I bolt this up to my 73?

None of those 71 parts will bolt up to your 73. The only way to get a 71-72 grille on a 73 would be to replace the entire front clip with one from a 71 or 72 and even then the fenders will not line up with the doors and will not look good.

Contact (PM) oxytousc another member, Satellite parts will fit also, he may have some things to help you along. As said the 71-72 Different all together.. Good luck post up some pics when you can...

ok, one more question. I'm new to b-bodies. I can put together an a-body with my eyes closed, but this the the first b-body. since all my parts were in the trunk I have no idea how the grill assembly goes together, or if I even have all the parts. Does anybody know where I can get a diagram showing the grill, headlight, benzal, etc assembly? I'm sure I could figure it out. but it's nice to have something to go by.

oh, and it looks like the grill is actually fine. it had 2 in the trunk, one is pretty beat up but the other looks good.

You should have the main grille and 2 aluminum headlight bezels. There may be more parts but those are the ones I can recall from when I worked on one of those year Satellites.
