Tried to bleed the brakes the other day nothing came through the rear. Fluid comes out fine out of the Front calipers. took of the lines from the M/C fluid comes out fine. Took off the proportioning valve and nothing will come out the fitting where the rear lines attach but comes out fine everywhere else. I notice there are several other fittings with nut heads and took them off some debris in them, but all except one lets air travel through when blew into the valve. Which is located on the bottom side near the fitting for the rear brakes. Does this in some way control the flow or is there a way to try and fix this a new one from year one costs $135 seems a bit steep to me.

If it's the cast iron one I'm thinking about, it's rebuildable. Just pick-up a Hemmings Motor News and their are place's in the book that do this kind of thing. The last one I had done was on a 60s Ford product........ and seem like it was 80.00 Good Luck

It is in fact the cast iron one but, from what everyone ive talked to they usually dont go bad. Ive been told that in bleeding the front brakes we have set off a pin where the brake wire hooks onto and have been trying to reset it by bleeding the front brakes and closing the bleeders while the peddle is depressed and slowly releasing the brake pedal. On top of that we were told that the pin at the top with a rubber boot around it needs to be pushed untill it makes a clicking sound but we cant get it to do that either or tell if its in far enough. Im not convinced this one is bad just lack of knowledge on how it works. They do not reproduce them either only place to get one is a junkyard and I may have the same issues. So if anyone can give some insight it would be appreciated.

.....waiting to see how this turns out.

I currently plumbing that same valve into my 66. While it was in the 5th Ave, the brakes worked fine, but the light came on.

I had this problem a while ago, but don't remember what the resolution was.

I am intrigued by the pin and boot thingy. Perhaps that's the reset for the light switch.

No solution we tired fixed the old valve ended up buying a new one from mopar city. Got it put on and gravity bleed them fine. Most common thing to do to reset the pin is to open front bleeders press the pedal and then close the bleeders before letting the pedal up its supposed to create a vaccum to move the piston to center the pin. Didnt work for us but a lot of ppl suggested it.
