I'd like to see if this is cost effective.

I've had the idea for a few years of buying, making, and/or selling either the dies to stamp the metal around the radius, or offering weld in conversion parts or the service.

I cut one out and rolled the edges with a hammer and dolly for a friends roadrunner, he marked it for me and I did the rest, came out great and didn't take long either.

well here is the finished product, still needs a little filler and a couple dings removed, but am very happy with the end result.got $280.00 into it.$60.00 for the valance.$220.00 to have them blast it,radius the holes, make a new bracket, hammer out the dents, and epxoy prime it.

Way to go 72 blue! I did the one on my car, just working from pics on line and my tips. I tried to measure stuff on the screen, then adjust for that to get mine to come out. Did the cut outs, then rolled the edge a little and Viola, I had my cut out valence for a little time and filler.

rear valance

thanks,i even called amd before i started this, was told no plans for the 72 rear valance, even said they could have my rusty one for a pattern.seems the 71 was more cost productive.still at least i have one now,and can quit getting the run around trying to find one.

looks like they did a good job. are you going to try and save the old one?

valance

was just hanging onto it for a pattern, and if someone else needed one for a pattern.seems the real cutout ones are very hard to find and amd has no plans to make them.it has a lot of bondo in it and both brackets are gone, the end tabs are rusted away.
