72 RR hood bumper location

Does anyone know if these hood bumpers (on each side of hood near the cowl) go in the front hole or the rear hole (nearer to windshield)? Thanks. I've searched high and low on the web and couldn't find a photo to tell me.

My 72 rear hood bumpers are located in the holes closest to the windshield.
